During my recent gourmet getaway at Loewenwirt, I was pleasantly surprised by the culinary delights that awaited me. The hotel's restaurant, Il Leone, located conveniently within the property, offered a symphony of flavors that beautifully encapsulated the essence of South Tyrolean cuisine. As an Italian culinary critic, I am constantly in search of unique gastronomic experiences, and here, I found just that.One particular morning, as I sat down for breakfast, I was delighted to discover a spread that included both sweet and savory options. Fresh eggs were available on request, allowing me to savor a taste of home while being surrounded by the stunning Alpine scenery. The ambiance was inviting, and the attentive staff made me feel right at ease. It was the perfect start to my day of exploration in the mountains.In the evenings, after a day of outdoor adventures, I found solace in the fact that the bar and restaurant were open to the public. It allowed me to mingle with locals and fellow travelers, adding a sense of camaraderie to my dining experience. The variety of nearby restaurants, such as Biovita Cuisine and Pizzeria Martina, provided additional options for culinary exploration.While the breakfast hours were a bit late for my early riser preferences, the quality of the food more than made up for it. I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone looking to indulge in the flavors of the region while being surrounded by the beauty of the Dolomites.
